What concept do you feel like you mastered this nine weeks? What concept did you struggle with the most? Why? What can you change this nine weeks in your study habits, etc to improve your grade?
What concept do you feel like you mastered this nine weeks? For having Mrs. Robinson for the first time, I had to quickly adjust. We started off Advanced Math with Chapter 7 and I feel that was the chapter I mastered the most so far. Section 7-2 was one of the easiest. It dealt with formulas and word problems. Also, the trig chart and unit circle were easy to learn and understand.
What concept did you struggle with the most? Why? Recently, I struggled with Chapter 9. I think the reason it was hard for me to catch on was because I didn’t remember that much from geometry. But studying the notes and doing the homework helped me to understand a lot more.
What can you change this nine weeks in your study habits, etc to improve your grade? Along with doing my homework, I can work extra problems. Also, maybe studying with others would help too. I should start asking more questions in class too..
This nine weeks has been pretty stressful so far with math because it is not my best subject. But, I would have to say chapter 7 has been the chapter that I have mastered best so far. The beginning sections were pretty easy when we had to do things such as converting degrees to radians and things like that. Chapter 9 also wasn’t too bad.
I feel like I struggled most just trying to adjust myself to a new teacher. The ones we have had in the past taught very slow and stayed on a subject for a few days, and we didn’t take very many tests. This year with Mrs. Robinson is completely different. We learn a new thing every day, have quizzes twice a week, and it is pretty hard to get used to. I finally feel like I am more comfortable with this class now even though it is one of my hardest.
To improve my grade I could definitely work more problems than I do. Also, I could try and work each problem on the homework instead of skipping the ones that are giving me trouble. Even though I do ask questions in class already, it wouldn’t hurt to ask them more often.
Well I do not consider math my strongest subject but since I have been in Adv. Math i feel im getting stronger in understanding what to do with a word problem, and im grasping most of the concepts your teaching. So far the chapter I have mastered best is Chapter 9. It was easier than the rest because it was just a more in depth review of geometry. Along with Chapter 7 that wasn't that bad either.
It's very hard to go from a teacher that takes you through baby steps and slowly lures you along a Chapter, to someone who gets to the point and tests us daily on what we know. I like how Mrs. Robinson is teaching mainly because the faster i learn the faster it programs into my brain, learning slower sometimes allowed me more time to process what i was learning wrong(id over think the steps). I like having more quizzes because it gives you a chance to redeem yourself if you had not done well on a test. I also like the way you grade, you look to see if we wrote any formulas or steps to show you we knew what we were doing just did it wrong and still give us credit.
Id be able to improve my grade if i worked more of the problems, alot of times i skip problems in the homework that i do not know and then forget to ask you about them. I do also feel dumb sometimes for asking questions in class, but i know if i ask you will answer, so ill start to ask more questions. Also i need to study the homework problems more than just the example problems from the Chapter.
What concept do you feel like you mastered this nine weeks? This nine weeks was kind of overwhelming. I had to go from having Mrs. Angie and Coach Joe these past 3 years to Mrs. Robinson. It was a big adjustment to make because their teaching styles are so different. It took me awhile but I think I’m starting to get the hang of things. The concepts I mastered the most were converting degrees to radians, radians to degrees, and converting minutes and seconds.
What concept did you struggle with the most? Why? I think the hardest thing for me this nine weeks was all of chapter 8. It’s not the easiest chapter in the world and I’m not used to being taught so much in one week. I think if I get used to learning so much information in one week I will get better.
What can you change this nine weeks in your study habits, etc to improve your grade? I think if I ask more questions I will be able to improve my grade. I also think if I got a tutor it would help as well. One thing I do like to improve my grade are the blogs. I like that it’s a chance to get some extra grades and it does help me to review about what we learned the past weeks.
I must admit that I was a little disappointed at the beginning of the year when I learned that we were skipping chapters one through six in our textbook. What this meant was that we were staring the year off with all new material . Generally when you start a new subject there is a review of the prior course. But anyway , it was an adjustment we all had to make. Although we didn’t get a “review” I actually found that chapter seven the easiest chapter we’ve had. The conversions as well as the radian /degree modes came naturally to me. So I guess you can say that ive mastered chapter seven. On the other hand, one of the more difficult things I had to learn would no doubt be the identities. The functions were a little difficult , but nothing so far has been as hard as those. I think I struggled with the identies because there were plenty steps, and they were of tedious. Unlike other math problems , they don’t have numbers which makes it even harder when trying to find the correct answer. Next nine weeks I plan to study every day so that I wont be behind. Once you get behind it is VERY hard to catch up. If I study more often and make sure I understand concepts, ill probably do better. Besides, I really want an A
What concept do you feel like you mastered this nine weeks? For having Mrs. Robinson for the first time, you didn’t have time to goof off and talk during class. I had to quickly adjust to the way Mrs. Robinson likes and it took me a while but at the end I realize that it was the best for us. The chapter I mastered in was 7. Chapter 8 is easy for me also but I just have to remember the formulas and stuff and I should be okay.
What concept did you struggle with the most? Why? Recently, I struggled with Chapter 9. I think the reason it was hard for me because everything is dealing with geometry and I didn’t care for geometry. If I study my notes and do problems and practice them over and over again I will be good and will not struggle no more.
What can you change this nine weeks in your study habits, etc to improve your grade? Honestly, If I practice the problems that you assign us to do every night for homework. I will be truthful I haven’t did homework in your class since the first week and It was stupid on my part to not do it because the homework you assign us. It will help us with our test and any questions we have. This nine weeks coming up I will do my homework and anything you give us.
What concept do you feel like you mastered this nine weeks? This year was a huge change for me. Math has got to be my worst subject and I was terrified to have Mrs. Robinson as a teacher because everyone says she's the hardest math teacher. I felt like Chapter 7 was the easiest by far along with the rest of the class i'm sure. What concept did you struggle with the most? Why? I'd have to say a close race between 8-4 and all of chapter 9. Too many formulas for 8-4! Chapter 9 might not have been so bad if I had remembered things from geometry. By studying chapter 9 more and more I understand it so much better!
What can you change this nine weeks in your study habits, etc to improve your grade? ASK QUESTIONS IN CLASS! I get to nervous to ask questions because I don't want to seem stupid. Also, doing extra problems on my own would help a lot too. I'm really not doing as bad as I expected to do in this class so I guess that's a plus.
What concept do you feel like you mastered this nine weeks?Well the concept i got the most was chapter 7 because it was the easiest chapter to learn and therefor the easiest to master. Lets not talk about the other chapters. Adjusting to Mrs. Robinson is tough and I'm still not quite used to it yet.
What can you change this nine weeks in your study habits, etc to improve your grade?Lets see what can I change this week about my study habits, um everthing, I need to definitely do all of my homework, memorize my formulas and ask more questions in class
The thing I believe I’m doing best on is Chapter 9. Don’t get me wrong Chapter 7 was pretty easy, but my mind was still fried from summer and I am just now getting back to normal. I don’t even want to think about Chapter 8. That devil worship teaching section was just a pain. I think I still remember some stuff from it, but I’ve been concentrating so hard on Chapter nine I do believe I’ve forgotten a few things. I am trying Mrs. Robinson so don’t give up on me. I promise as soon as footballs over you should see an increase in my grades. I know it’s an excuse but I just get lazy during this time. My study habits are terrible as well. That’s just because as soon as I finish my homework for other classes I just quit. As soon, as my schedule isn’t full of exhausting activities we will be ok.
This nine weeks I had the hardest course in my entire life thrown at me and I am not being over dramatic. I think if I ask more questions I will be able to improve my grade. I also think if I got a tutor it would help as well. One thing I do like to improve my grade are the blogs. I like that it’s a chance to get some extra grades and it does help me to review about what we learned the past weeks. I honestly think that it is just really hard. I honestly think I can do better but trig is just really commplicated to pick up on. The thing I would have to say that I struggle with the most would be everything in chapter 8. I thing that chapter is the hardest because of the memorization needed for the formulas. I think the things I need to do to improve my grade is doing my homework daily and paying extra attention in class everyday.
I feel like I have by now mastered everything because I have the best advanced math teacher in the world. I think the concept that I struggled with the most is the chapter with the identies, because I know how to do them but I just cant seem to remember them. I think I can take some more time out of my very busy life and study some more, and start remembering to do my blogs. Another thing is I need to start doing more of my homework more frequently!
What concept do you feel like you mastered this nine weeks?
I feel like i have mastered most of Chapter 7, including changing radians to degrees and vice versa. I've also mastered the trig chart , the unit circle, pythagorean triples reference angles etc. In chapter 8 i have mastered finding theta in all of the quadrants, also finding points and graphing them. In chapter nine i have somewhat mastered SOHCAHTOA, finding area for right triangles and non-right triangles, and law of cosines.
What concepts did you struggle with?
I struggled with Identities. In Chapter 9 I struggled with Law of Sines for some reason and I also struggled with navigation.
What can you change this nine weeks in your study habits, etc to improve your grade?
I can study more to improve my study habits. I can not cram but instead study a little everyday instead of just the day before the test. I can do my homework more often also to improve my grade. I can also continue to take advantage of staying after school for extra help.
The concept that I feel I mastered the most is chapter 9. It deals with triangles and the area and all the trig functions. It was just like geometry and I just understand geometry really good so this chapter was really easy for me. Another thing I understand is the unit circle and the word problems. I struggled the most with chapter eight. I’m just not used to learning a lot of formulas in so little time. And I’m not good at memorizing stuff so that didn’t help. I need to adjust to learning so fast. I think that I can change a lot of my study habits. I need to learn all of the formulas and do my homework more. I also need to remember to do these blogs and make sure to study for the tests and quizzes. And ask more questions in class to make sure I definitely understand all the material.
